Freedom Since 1947 - The Sketch

Stories Retold - A tribute to the Freedom Fighters of India! 

Select any one Freedom Fighter and write an engaging story or poetry keeping the historical facts correct. The objective of this project is to create engaging literary and learning content for readers to know about the freedom fighters of India and pass through generations ahead.

Each write up will comprise a Sketch of the Freedom Fighter made by us.

Freedom will be released before the 77th India's Independence day at the India International Centre in New Delhi on 11th August 2024 at Solstice 2024.

Solstice is our Annual event held every year around August with eminent Dignitaries visiting from across the country. Solstice 2023 was held at ICCR, Satyajit Ray Auditorium in Kolkata with Guests of Honor from ILSR (Kolkata), Alliance Française du Bengale, British Council, NSHM Centre for Language & Communication and Jadavpur University

Deliverables,

1. Book Release at Solstice 2024 on 11th August, Sunday at Indian International Centre, New Delhi

2. Placement at Ukiyoto House, Indian Coffee House, College Street, Kolkata

3. Published, distributed and promoted by us as Paperbacks, Hardbacks and eBooks worldwide

4. Certificate of Honour

(All submissions are online and do not require any physical presence while you are most welcome to attend the launch program at New Delhi on 11th August and bring in your friends and family as the entry is free.)

Word Count: 2,000 to 4,000 words for Short Story OR 500 to 2,000 words for Poetry (all content needs to be in English only)

The "works" would be placed in anthology/collections to be produced.
